Many Clouds on course for National bid.

Trainer of Many Clouds Oliver Sherwood has indicated the plans for his chargein the run up to his bid to be the first back to back winner of the Aintree spectacle since Red Rum.

The trainer stated "we're now looking to Kelso on March 5, which fits in perfectly between now and Aintree."

After an uremarkable seasonal debut Many Clouds has been in good form with good runs in a listed chase at Aintree where he was only 4 lengths second behind the smart Don Poli and followed this up on Cheltenham trials day chasing home Smad Place who he had to give weight to.

He will have to overcome not only a 40 year drought since the last back to back winner but also the cloud over other past winners form after the race with very few horses actually winning any race after their triumph in The Grand National.
