Harzand "all systems go" for Arc.
Dual Derby winner Harzand’s running in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
was in doubt following an injury he sustained in the Irish Champion Stakes. His trainer has now said that his charge has now fully recovered and is in "tremendous form” for one of the top European races.
His jockey Pat Smullen said today (Tuesday) "I rode him this morning and he felt well - it's all systems go”
The ground which is said to be on the quick side is not ideal for the horse but he has such a good constitution and is really genuine that he should have a good chance unless the ground in firm which is no so likely. Any rain would boost his chances of course.
Other possible runners include 3 from Aiden O’Brien’s yard, Found, Highland Reel, and Order of St. George.
Postponed from the Roger Varian yard is still the stand out favourite for the race with the Japanese horse Makahiki trying to take the glory for Japan is second fav at the moment. The Japanese would love to win this year having been chasing win here in this race for quite some time now.
