The_2013_Race

Very Interesting race today with some top class perfomers taking part.

Epsom Derby winner Ruler Of The World comes here after two below par runs and will neeed to bounce back to best

Unlucky second last year Orfevre has done nothing wrong and looks to go one better today but horses coming back to the race do not have a sparkling record.

As well as Orfevre the Japanese also have KIZUNA another top class runner who is in great form.

Another English Classic winner the St. Leger winner Leading Light is fancied by connections for this race.

With all these good runners this is a really good top class race which has lost little with the defection of The Fugue and most recently Novellist with the softening ground.

List_of_runners

Number Draw Form Name Age Weight Trainer Jockey
1 1 113742 Very Nice Name 4 9-5 A De Mieulle Pierantonio Convertino
Nice horse who does most of his winning in Dubai. Good second to the fancied Orfevre today but did not get close on that occasion

2 12 1-1111 Novellist 4 9-5 A Wohler Johnny Murtagh
Top Class, unbeaten and in top form. Well fancied despite unfavorable high draw

3 18 111132 Al Kazeem 5 9-5 Roger Charlton James Doyle
Another top class performer and multiple Group 1 Winner. One of the top contenders today.

4 14 9-6302 Joshua Tree 6 9-5 Ed Dunlop Richard Hughes
Winner of 2 Canadian Grade 1 races but will have to improve to take part in finish in this high class race.

5 2 469331 Meandre 5 9-5 A Savujev Umberto Rispoli
International Group 1 winner and also course and distance winner. Comes in good form of a win good, if messy win in Germany. Could make odds look to big today.

6 8 122-11 Orfevre 5 9-5 Yasutoshi Ikee Christophe Soumillon
Extremely unlucky loser of this race last year when caught on the line. Top horse who could go one better this year from a mid draw.

7 4 1-5234 Going Somewhere 4 9-4 D Smaga Gregory Benoist
Would be a surprise winner on known form and a likely also ran.

8 17 722366 Haya Landa 5 9-2 Mme L Audon Franck Blondel
Well exposed and little chance here today

9 3 314653 Pirika 5 9-2 A Fabre Pierre-Charles Boudot
Group 3 winner earlier in the season on this course but looks to have little chance today

10 7 12114 Flintshire 3 8-11 A Fabre Maxime Guyon
Nice progressive, course Group 1 winner. Soft ground would not be ideal .

11 5 1-1111 Leading Light 3 8-11 A P OŽBrien Gerald Mosse
Top Class St. Leger winner has only lost once on his first start. Certainly has the class to win this but St. Leger winners have a terrible record in this race.

12 13 -11533 Ocovango 3 8-11 A Fabre Stephane Pasquier
Looked a really good 2-y-o but has not yet shown up to this class and has a bit to find

13 10 612121 Penglai Pavilion 3 8-11 A Fabre Mickael Barzalona
Listed winner who looks to have plenty o his plate today.

14 11 -51111 Kizuna 3 8-11 Shozo Sasaki Yutaka Take
Top class Japanese runner. On a good winning streak and beat Epsom Derby winner Ruler of the World on last outing here. Fancied to do well.

15 6 11152 Ruler Of The World 3 8-11 A P OŽBrien Ryan Moore
Epsom Derby winner but has not been up to that form over last two runnings. Class horse and chance should not be underestimated.

16 16 133232 Sahawar 3 8-11 C Ferland Thierry Thulliez
Well exposed 3-y-o and not up to this class, would be a surprise winner.

17 9 131131 Intello 3 8-11 A Fabre Olivier Peslier
Useful course form and a consistent type. Will have to improve but could well improve enough.

18 15 1-111 Treve 3 8-8 Mme C Head-Maarek Thierry Jarnet
Top class, improving, course form. There is little going against this horse. A really good chance. Jockey changed as original jockey Frankie Dettori has ankle injury but good substitute.
