THE 2020 RACE

-----------------------------------

Bellshill was a really good chaser when with Willie Mullins but after a lacklustre season last year he now runs for a new stable. Ran at a 168 rating in the 2019 Gold Cup. A return to that form would put him in with a good chance here but at 10 years old we might have just seen the best of him.

Bristol De Mai
is another top class horse. Seen something of a Haydock specialist and always runs well here. A dual winner of this race and second last year. He will be spot-on on his season debut. Has not won however since 2018 but sure to give a good account of himself at his favourite track.

Clan Des Obeaux is one f the best chasers in training. Dual King George winner but can run below top class first time out and then be sparkling on his second run. It would be foolish to run him out here as the trainer gets horses fit for 1st run but still a bit of a worry.

Keeper Hill is a lovely horse and ran well with credit in the Charlie hall chase last time out. I fear the class of this competitive race may catch him out.

Lostintranslation
won this race in good style last year and on that occasion he delt out the first defeat of Bristol De Mai at this course. He is top class and a worthy favourite. Trained by Colin Tizzard whos stable has really not hit form yet this year and that is the only worry. He looks like the winner but, the stables form is a concern.

Selection: Lostintranslation : Danger Clan Des Obeaux
