THE 2021 RACE

-----------------------------------

Cyrname is a top-class horse from the Paul Nicholls yard. Winner of this race last year he was not right in his other two starts being pulled up on both occasions. That said Paul Nicholls is a master at getting horses fit to run the first time out and Cyrname certainly looks the one to beat again this year.

Shane Blue was a good winner of the Bet365 chase here last season. He won that novice by 16 lengths. He was a little disappointing at the festival in March but ran a good second to Chantry House at the Aintree festival. Will be spot on for this and the stable is in good form.

Clondaw Castle is well exposed for a 9-year-old and won a good race at Newbury last November. He ran in the Bowl at Aintree at the end of last season and was well beaten. He is a consistent sort in the main and should go well but I fear there are others with better chances.

Fusil Raffles
is another good young horse who can put in a poor performance every now and then. He broke a blood vessel in a race last season. He is a horse with a lot of potentials so let's hope he stays fit and improves. Perhaps best watched today.

Kitty's Light is a very young improver. He has the advantage of a previous run two weeks ago at Chepstow where he ran really well and the winner just got away from his receiving 10 pounds. I expect this horse to run just as well today and if there is an upset in this race this is the orse I expect to deliver it.

Top Ville Ben is a good horse who normally I might say would not have much of a chance here but he seems to love this course and improves for running here. Still difficult to fancy today.

Mighty Thunder is a good long-distance runner. Looks to be in here as a pipe opener for races later in the season. Gets 4 miles really well and so this distance should not be a problem.

Selection Cyrname NB Kitty's Light
