Top weight today Froden has the help of Bryony Frost on board today who is well worth her 3lb claim. Good runs in the early part of the season were compounded by his win in a Grade 3 at Cheltenham new year meeting but things did not go his way after. He was the last of the 5 finishers in the Ryanair Chase. He has since had a wind operation since and looks one of the contenders today.

By most horses standards Cloudy Dream had a good season last season but he did not manage a win. He was second in this race and only beaten 3/4L but a great performance by Smad Place. Goes well when fresh and a worthy favourite.

Javert is unbeaten in the last to seasons in any race where he finished. He is here fresh with a good win under his belt. Taking a step up in class and looks as if he could still be open to improvement.

Voix D’Eau comes down from Scotland from the Grand National winning year of Lucinda Russell. He has been on the go all summer and running very well for previous trainer Harry Fry. Fit and well.

Flying Angel is a Grade 1 course winning horse. Something of a mixed time last season but not one you could easily rule out.

2nd String from Twiston-Davies yard? Templehills won by 11l last time out earlier this month. Stiffer task here but young consistent type and stable does well early season.

Ranses De Teillee from the David Pipes yard. A heavy ground horse who might struggle here.

Theo from Dr. Newlands yard is 2 from 2 this season in recent runs. Time to step up and questions will be asked of him today.

Value at Risk had wins at both ends of last season. Has run well here (hurdles). Could be better than bare form suggests.
